Wilkinson, William James (Jim) 1922 - 2016

It it with great sadness that we announce the passing of WW2 Veteran Cpl William James Wilkinson, on August 29th, 2016, at the age of 93.
Beloved husband of Gail Myles, cherished father of Fraser, devoted grandfather of Rebecca and Emily. He will also be missed by many relatives and friends. Proud and long serving member of the Black Watch Regiment, Royal Canadian Legion, Shriners and Masons.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Ste Anne's Veterans Hospital for their wonderful support and care.
Jim enlisted at the tender age of 17 with the !st Batallion (RMR) Black Watch April 6th, 1940 and was discharged June 23, 1945, serving in Canada, Newfoundland, England, France, Belgium, Holland & Germany, Jim sustained injuries while enlisted and was decorated for his bravery and service (receiving the following metals CVSM clasp, Demilitrized Medal, French & German star war medals, French Legion of Honor, and many more).
Jim join 'The Canadian Legion of the British Empire Service League' (now the Royal Canadian Legion) on January 15, 1946, becoming a life member on November 16, 1992, and was a very active member his entire civil life.
A great person, Jim you’ll be missed by all of us that knew you over the years, and by those comrades you leave behind. You fought your battles with honour and is now a time for rest, farewell and peace on your journey.
